This site is dedicated to the conservation of reptiles of the Southern  African continent, south of the Zambesi River.

 

The aim of Reptile Conservation is to gain knowledge from research. By using this knowledge we can educate people in the conservation thereof.

 

Research consist of:

                        Field studies

                        Behavioural studies

 

Conservation consist of:

                        Breeding programs

                        Education

                        Public Awareness by Exhibitions

                        Rehabilitation

                        Problem reptile removal

 

Conservation of reptiles does not consist of reptiles only, but the ecology and all other related issues for the existence of a specific reptile species.

 

 

Neels Bothma is dedicating his life to the conservation of Southern African reptiles, by giving training to the general public, schools, Mining industries and Businesses.  

 

Situated in Lydenburg, Mpumalanga, he is close to most of Southern Africa’s ecological areas. This include Savannah, Indigenous Forest, Mountain areas, Grasslands and Wetlands.

 

Neels is also working close with the Endangered Wildlife Trust for the conservation of other species like Vultures.

 

He manufactures and distributes snake handling tools to the public and other institutions.
